There is a great variety of products available on Gerdau Summit portfolio for long-product applications. These rolls can be manufactured by conventional or static casting, process in which rolls are made up of a single material; or through spin casting in which the roll’s outer/work layer provides wear resistance and the core provides a combination between toughness and mechanical resistance.

The main difference between these two processes is the hardness characteristic as shown in figure 1.
